KENNESAW, Ga. – Tallying its fourth-consecutive clean sheet to begin the season, the Auburn women’s soccer team blanked Kennesaw State 4-0 on Thursday night at Walens Family Field at Fifth Third Stadium.
Graice Brown provided the game-winner in the 13th minute, followed by three goals in the second half to run away with a 4-0 victory. Ava Caldwell (51’ and 87’) scored her first career brace, while Emma Musiek (86’) notched her first career goal.
The Tigers remain unbeaten and have run their record to 3-0-1.
“A win is a win, and on the road is definitely difficult so we will take it,” head coach James Armstrong said. “Another clean sheet and we created lots of chances. I think the second half was much improved from the first. We also got a lot of players experience tonight so that is another bonus. We’re headed back to Auburn happy with the win, but we still have a lot to work on.”
The Tigers dominated play from start to finish, holding the ball for 67 percent of the game and out-shooting KSU 28-2. In its last three games, Auburn has out-shot its opponents 74-6 and have found the back of the net 12 times during that stretch.
Goalkeeper Ayana Yapo recorded her third-straight shutout but was once again not asked to do much as Auburn’s stout defense held KSU without a shot on goal.
The Tigers now return home to host Georgia State on Sunday for Senior Night. Kick is set for 6:30 p.m.
