AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn soccer will participate in two preseason exhibition matches ahead of the 2026 season, playing Wednesday at Georgia in Athens and Saturday at home against Georgia Southern. The Tigers will face the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. CT on the road before hosting the Eagles at 5 p.m. CT on Saturday.
“It’s time to play someone other than ourselves,” said Auburn head coach James Armstrong. “We’re definitely at that point now. It’s been a great preseason so far, and I’m really happy with the effort and attitude of the girls, so now it’s time to put it against somebody else.”
Auburn and Georgia will play three 30-minute periods on Wednesday, while Auburn and Georgia Southern will play a traditional match featuring 45-minute halves on Saturday.
“These two exhibition games are against two really high-quality opponents,” Armstrong said. “Georgia will be one of the favorites to win the SEC, and a lot of our players have not played against SEC opposition before. Giving people an opportunity to show off what they can do will be key. I think there will be multiple players who play at least two positions throughout the course of these two games, so we hope that those players, as they go into the first true week against Clemson, feel that they have an opportunity to express themselves for a starting spot or significant minutes off the bench.”
The two friendlies will lead up to the 2026 season opener against Clemson, which will be hosted at the Auburn Soccer Complex on Aug. 12 at 6 p.m. CT.
All matches at the Auburn Soccer Complex, including Saturday’s exhibition, are free and open to the public. Posters for the 2026 Auburn soccer season will be given to fans at the match while supplies last.
