AUBURN, Ala. – Jackson Koivun has been selected to represent the United States at the 2026 Presidents Cup, team captain Brandt Snedeker and the PGA announced Tuesday. The 16th edition of the Presidents Cup will be held Sept. 24-27 at Medinah Country Club in Chicago.
“It’s an incredible honor to be selected for the 2026 United States Presidents Cup Team. I’m grateful for the confidence Captain Snedeker and the team have shown in me,” Koivun said.
Joining Koivun on Team USA are Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns, Russell Henley, Collin Morikawa, Chris Gotterup, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay and Jacob Bridgeman.
Koivun follows Jason Dufner (2013 – USA) as Auburn’s only other Presidents Cup representatives and is the youngest player (21) to represent Team USA since Jordan Spieth.
“This is another incredible honor to add to an incredible athlete’s resume. We are beyond proud of Jackson and can’t wait to see him represent the USA.” Said Head Coach Nick Clinard.
The Cary, North Carolina, product finished his collegiate career as one of the best amateur players in history. Koivun became the first golfer to sweep all three national player of the year awards (Haskins, Hogan, Nicklaus) twice (2024, 2026), earned multiple First Team All-America honors by Golfweek and PING and was a three-time SEC Player of the Year.
Koivun concluded his amateur career in June in the 126th U.S. Open, finishing 23rd and tying for low amateur. He wrapped up his unparalleled Auburn career June 3 by helping Auburn win its second NCAA championship in three years. He won individual SEC championships in each of his three seasons on the Plains, becoming the first SEC golfer to threepeat in six decades.
Koivun earned his Tour membership at the end of his sophomore season through the PGA Tour U Accelerated program, which awards collegiate players with points based on outstanding accomplishments in the sport, eventually earning more than twice the 20 points required for Tour membership.
Auburn’s active record holder in 16 categories, Koivun won a program-record 11 tournaments for the Tigers, tying for the most in SEC history and tied for the seventh most in NCAA history.
By winning in his third professional start at the 3M Open in July, Koivun becomes the second fastest in history to earn a PGA Tour victory.
The United States has won 10 straight Presidents Cup titles. The 2024 edition saw Team USA take the Cup at Royal Montreal.
