AUBURN, Ala. — Junior middle blocker Grace Havlicek was dubbed the Southeastern Conference defensive player of the week following a 20-block week, winning all four matches. The honor comes as Havlicek's second-career SEC award, previously being named SEC freshman of the week on Sept. 30, 2024.
Havlicek logged a season-high seven blocks in the Tigers’ 3-1 win at Florida State on Tuesday. The Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. native also logged eight kills and a pair of aces against the Seminoles.
In Chicago, Havlicek tallied six blocks against UIC and five more at DePaul. Havlicek had a pair of blocks against Central Michigan, plus a season-high four digs against the Chippewas.
Havlicek recorded three aces against both UIC and DePaul. Her eight kills against Florida State were matched against UIC and Central Michigan, setting her season-high in three consecutive matches.
In a 4-0 week, Havlicek averaged 1.43 blocks per set. With her 1.86 kills per set and 0.57 aces per set, Havlicek totaled 3.14 points per set.
