Tank Bigsby helped lead the Eagles to a 2-0 start with his first touchdown of the season, and Daniel Carlson had a perfect day to help the Saints capture a tough road victory.
That and more in this week’s Auburn Made NFL rundown.
Tank Bigsby, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
Bigsby made the most of his opportunity in a week two clash against the Titans, finding paydirt for the first time this season in a 24-20 Eagles win. The former third-round pick scored the first touchdown of the game for the Eagles, finding the endzone from the two-yard line with 12:49 remaining in the second quarter. Bigsby commanded 15 total touches on 26 snaps played, and his touchdown marked the 12th of his four-year NFL career, good for 15th all-time among former Auburn running backs.
Daniel Carlson, K, New Orleans Saints
Carlson scored the first nine points of the game for New Orleans as he connected on field goal attempts of 23, 47, and 51 yards. He also converted his lone extra point attempt of the game in the Saints’ 24-17 win over the Ravens in Baltimore. Now with 229 field goals made in his nine-year career, Carlson ranks third in the NFL in field goals made since he entered the league in 2018. The 2022 All-Pro remains among the most accurate kickers in the NFL, with an 86.7% career conversion rate on field goal attempts, good for the ninth best mark in NFL history.
Jamel Dean, CB, Pittsburgh Steelers
Dean continues to make contributions in Pittsburgh as the first-year Steeler and eighth-year pro turned in three tackles and a forced fumble against the Patriots in week two. Dean forced a fumble in consecutive weeks for the first time in his career and ranks tied for second in the NFL in the category. The former third-round selection earned an 81.0 PFF grade and an 81.4 coverage grade. He is currently the fifth highest-graded cornerback (84.8), including the highest rated among 132 NFL corners in run defense (91.7) through two weeks.
Jamien Sherwood, LB, New York Jets
Sherwood finished tied for the team lead with six tackles, including three solo tackles and a tackle for loss, in the Jets week two matchup against the Packers. Sherwood remains one of the most productive linebackers in the NFL since stepping into a more prominent role for the Jets in 2024. The former fifth-round pick ranks second in the league during that span in total tackles (322) and solo tackles (174), with 36 games played.
