AUBURN, Ala. — Belle Patrick earned the first Southeastern Conference weekly award of her career following a 29-kill performance in Auburn’s SEC-opening reverse sweep at Arkansas.
The junior outside hitter led the Auburn attack with a career-high 29 kills, the second-most by any SEC player this season. Patrick’s career high was also the second-most kills by an Auburn Tiger in the rally scoring era (2001-present), and the ninth most kills ever by a Tiger.
Patrick and the Tigers opened SEC play with a reverse sweep victory over Arkansas on Friday, Sept. 25. Patrick drove the reverse sweep herself, with 20 kills in the final three sets, hitting .326 across the span. She was even more efficient in just the final two sets, hitting .440 with 13 kills on 25 attempts in sets four and five.
The Cary, N.C. native added nine digs, two aces, a block, and a perfect, 32-for-32 serve-receive performance in the win in Fayetteville, Ark.
