AUBURN, Ala. – The unbeaten Auburn women’s soccer team continues its Birmingham road trip as the Tigers get set to square off with Samford Sunday. Action at Shauna Yelton Field is slated to get underway at 5 p.m. CT.
Head coach James Armstrong’s Tigers (4-0-2) are coming off a gritty 1-0 win over UAB on Thursday night thanks to Ellie Rebmann’s first goal in an Auburn uniform. The senior tapped home the game-winner after getting on the end of a threaded pass from Ava Caldwell, marking her team-best third assist of the season.
With the win, the 2026 Tigers are now just the seventh team in program history to remain unbeaten through the first six matches of a season. The program has also been unbeaten through six matches in the following seasons – 2002, 2015, 2018, 2021, 2022 and 2024.
The Auburn back line has been a big reason for that streak, earning five clean sheets. The Tigers lead the conference in goals against average (0.17) with keeper Ayana Yapo boasting an impressive 0.875 save percentage.
Samford (3-1-2) is no stranger to SEC opposition, playing No. 6 Alabama to a close 1-0 loss on the road last time out. The Bulldogs share three common opponents with the Tigers, beating Georgia State, 1-0, and Jacksonville State, 4-1, to go along with the hard-fought loss at Alabama.
Auburn leads the all-time series 13-3-5, including a 7-1-2 mark in Birmingham. The most recent contest between the two sides resulted in a 0-0 draw at the Auburn Soccer Complex in 2025.

After Auburn concludes non-conference play at Samford Sunday, the Tigers return home to host No. 6 Alabama in the SEC opener Friday, Sept. 11. Kickoff at the Auburn Soccer Complex against the Crimson Tide is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.
