NASSAU, Bahamas – Auburn baseball is set to open its 2027 season at the Atlantis Collegiate Baseball Series, taking on Penn State in a three-game series from Feb. 19-21 at Andre Rodgers National Baseball Stadium, bdG Sports announced Thursday.
“This is an incredible opportunity to provide our players with an experience they’ll never forget,” head coach Butch Thompson said. “Not only will they be exposed to a different culture, but they’ll also be tested early in the season against a power conference opponent that we’ve only played one other time in our program’s history. We’re looking forward to kicking off just the second year of this unique event.”
It marks the second season of the Atlantis Collegiate Baseball Series after Indiana State and Penn State played in the inaugural series in 2026.
“Bringing NCAA Division I baseball to the Bahamas last year was just the beginning,” said Josh Franklin, Tournament Director for bdG Sports. “The response we saw from Penn State, Indiana State and everyone who made the trip down told us there was a real appetite for this event to grow. Expanding to two weekends in 2027 lets us showcase four outstanding programs — Auburn, Penn State, NC State and Michigan — on one of the best stages in college baseball. It's a huge step for the series, for Andre Rodgers National Baseball Stadium and for baseball here in the Bahamas.”
