AUBURN, Alabama—Auburn Athletics will continue its celebration of America’s 250th anniversary this fall, with the America250 logo adorning Pat Dye Field at Jordan-Hare Stadium throughout the 2026 home football season.
Auburn was among the first college athletics programs to join the national America250 celebration when the logo debuted on Pat Dye Field during the 2025 Iron Bowl. The game also marked the first sporting-event stop for America250’s Our American Story, a national storytelling initiative created to capture and preserve the stories, experiences and perspectives of Americans across the country.
“America’s 250th anniversary provides a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the history, sacrifice and shared experiences that have shaped our nation,” Auburn Director of Athletics John Cohen said. “Auburn has always been a place that values tradition, service and community, and we are proud for Jordan-Hare Stadium and Pat Dye Field to once again be part of this national celebration.”
On July 4, 2026, the United States commemorated the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. While Independence Day marked the centerpiece of the commemoration, America250 celebrations and events continue throughout the anniversary year, providing opportunities for Americans to reflect on the nation’s history, celebrate the people and communities that have shaped it, and look toward its future.
“College football has a unique ability to bring people together, and we saw that firsthand last year when Auburn had the opportunity to help welcome America250 into the college sports landscape at the Iron Bowl,” Deputy Athletics Director and Chief Revenue Officer Rhett Hobart said. “We are proud to build on that moment this season and have the America250 logo displayed on Pat Dye Field throughout our home schedule as Auburn joins communities across the country in celebrating this historic anniversary.”
Auburn’s connection to America250 began in November 2025 when Our American Story visited the Plains for the 90th Iron Bowl. The initiative’s mobile storytelling experience was stationed at Toomer’s Corner, inviting members of the Auburn Family and visitors to share personal stories centered on family, community, identity, service and belonging. Selected stories collected through the nationwide initiative are being preserved as part of the American historical record.
Auburn opens its 2026 home schedule Saturday, Sept. 12, when the Tigers host Southern Miss for Kickoff on the Plains. Kickoff is slated for 6:45 p.m. CT.
