AUBURN, Ala. – After defeating No. 1 Georgia on the road Saturday, Auburn earned national and Southeastern Conference recognition Monday.
Quarterback Byrum Brown is the SEC’s Offensive Player of the Week, and kicker Alex McPherson is the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Brown also has been named one of the Davey O’Brien Foundation’s Great 8 quarterbacks for week seven.
Brown rushed 26 times for 115 yards and a touchdown in the win over Georgia while completing 15 of 26 passes for 150 yards and a TD with no turnovers.
McPherson made two field goals, a 49-yarder late in the first half to give Auburn a three-point lead, and a 34-yard game-winner as time expired to secure the Tigers’ 27-24 victory.
McPherson ranks in the top 10 in program history with 46 career field goals and 244 points.
Brown and McPherson join Eric Winters, who earned SEC defensive player of the week honors after Auburn’s season-opening win over Baylor, as the Tigers’ conference honorees in the first half of the 2026 season.
Head coach Alex Golesh has been selected as the Bear Bryant National Coach of the Week after leading Auburn to the second road win in program history over a top-ranked opponent.
For defeating the Bulldogs between the hedges, Auburn has been named the Pop-Tarts Bowl Crazy Good Team of the Week.
In the 131st edition of the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry, Auburn overcame an early 14-point deficit by scoring 24 straight points, forcing three Georgia turnovers including a fumble recovery in the final minute that set up McPherson’s game-winning kick.
Auburn (4-2, 2-2) hosts No. 18 LSU (5-2, 2-2) Saturday at 11 a.m. CT on ABC and the Auburn Sports Network.
