AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn senior distance runner Max Hardin was named the Southeastern Conference Cross Country Men’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year, as voted on by the league’s head coaches. A native of Auburn, Ala., Hardin has a 4.0 grade point average while majoring in biomedical sciences.
Hardin is the third Auburn male to win the award joining Ty McCormack who won the award in its inaugural year in 2014, and Ryan Kinnane, who was a three-time recipient from 2022-24.
He has been honored for his academic achievements, being named Academic All-SEC on three occasions and is a two-time U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Athlete honoree.
Athletically, Hardin has earned All-SEC distinctions and is the school record holder outdoors at 1500m and indoors in the mile. He was the SEC silver medalist in the 1500m outdoors and helped the distance medley relay to a silver at the conference meet indoors during his freshman year.
Hardin and the Tigers will return to action on Friday, Oct. 30, at the Southeastern Conference Championships at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo.
