Jamien Sherwood turned in his first double-digit tackle performance of the season, while Carlton Davis III and Derick Hall played key roles in their teams’ wins on Sunday.
That and more in this week’s Auburn Made NFL rundown.
Tank Bigsby, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
Bigsby once again stepped into a lead back role for the Eagles as the former third-round pick rushed 14 times for a season-high 55 yards against a stingy Rams defense. Since entering the league, Bigsby ranks sixth in both rushing yards (1,345) and rushing TDs (12) among 2023 draftees. His performance earned a PFF run grade of 80.1, which ranked fourth among 74 running backs in this week’s action.
Carlton Davis III, CB, New England Patriots
Davis III recorded another solid game at starting cornerback for the Patriots, logging five tackles with four solo stops in a 29-26 win over the Bills. Through four weeks of action, the eighth-year pro is one of two former Tigers among PFF’s top 10 graded cornerbacks, ranking 10th (78.1) while Jamel Dean sits in seventh (79.6). Davis III also garnered the fourth-highest run defense grade of the week (80.2) among 117 cornerbacks.
Derick Hall, LB, Seattle Seahawks
Hall came up big for the Seahawks in their win over the Chargers as he recorded a pair of stops and recovered a fumble with just under a minute remaining in the fourth quarter to help seal a 30-23 victory for Seattle. This marked the second career fumble recovery for the former second-round pick, as the other fumble recovery of Hall’s career went for a touchdown against the Falcons in 2024.
Jonathan Jones, CB, Philadelphia Eagles
Jones saw his first action with the Eagles this week after signing a free agent contract with the organization this offseason. The 11-year veteran and two-time Super Bowl champion logged three tackles and a pass defended in the hard-fought loss against the Rams. Auburn’s second-longest-tenured pro, Jones has totaled 480 tackles, 11 interceptions and 63 passes defended in 148 career games played.
Jamien Sherwood, LB, New York Jets
Sherwood recorded a season-high 13 tackles, including five solo stops, against the Bears, marking his 16th double-digit tackle performance since the beginning of the 2024 season. The former fifth-round pick forced a fumble midway through the third quarter that was recovered by the Jets, which led to a scoring drive. Sherwood’s 13 tackles tied for the second most in his last two seasons and led to his highest PFF grade of the year (86.2), grading him out as the seventh-best linebacker among 99 qualifiers this week. Since the beginning of the 2024 season, Sherwood ranks second in the NFL in tackles.
