AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn freshman Faith Chelangat has been named to the Southeastern Conference second team and Freshman All-SEC team, the conference office announced Tuesday. Chelangat earned the honors after finishing 14th at the SEC Cross Country Championships at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo., last week.

In 20 years since the freshman team was implemented, Chelangat is the fourth Tiger to be named both All-SEC and Freshman All-SEC in the same season joining Holly Knight (2007), Brenda Kigen (2015), and Brenda Jepchirchir (2024).

A native of Sotik, Kenya, Chelangat joined Oklahoma’s Domtila Cheruto as the only two women to earn both honors.

The first team for each gender includes the top seven finishers, while the second team consists of the next seven finishers (8-14), and the third team consists of finishers 15-21. The top seven freshman finishers in each race earn All-Freshman honors.

Auburn will return to action on Friday, Nov. 13 at the NCAA South Regional meet at the Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla.
