The 2006 Auburn women's swimming and diving team captured its fourth NCAA title in five seasons in dramatic fashion to cap an undefeated season. The Tigers pulled off a third-place finish in the final event of the 2006 NCAA Championships in Athens, Ga., holding off Georgia in its home pool to win the title.

Heading into the final day of competition, Auburn needed to pick up 53 points to spoil Georgia's bid to repeat as NCAA Champions. Hayley Peirsol earned Auburn's first-ever title in the 1,650 freestyle, while Rachel Goh took the gold in the 100 back.
