Awards and Scholarships

AUBURNYOU

SEC H. Boyd McWhorter Postgraduate Scholarship (13 male and 13 female $10,000 awards; 1 male and 1 female $20,000 award)

  • Competing in his/her last season of eligibility; or have completed his/her last season of eligibility, but still be within the five-year eligibility clock, as defined by the NCAA.
  • Qualified for a varsity letter in at least two seasons of competition at an SEC institution.
  • Has a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.20 on a 4.00 scale.
  • Plans to enroll in graduate or professional school within five years of selection.
  • Demonstrates qualities of leadership that bring credit to the student-athlete, his or her institution, intercollegiate athletics, and the goals and objectives of higher education.

 
Brad Davis SEC Community Service Postgraduate Scholarship (13 male and 13 female $7,500 awards; 1 male and 1 female $15,000 award)

  • Competing in his/her last season of eligibility; or have completed his/her last season of eligibility, but still be within the five-year eligibility clock, as defined by the NCAA.
  • Qualified for a varsity letter in at least two seasons of competition at an SEC institution.
  • Has a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale.
  • Plans to enroll in graduate or professional school within five years of selection.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to serving others in the university, or other communities through participation in various service projects and activities

 
NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women’s Enhancement Postgraduate Scholarship for Careers in Athletics ($10,000 to 13 ethnic minorities and 13 female college graduates)

  • Final season of athletics eligibility or will not be using any remaining athletics eligibility
  • Must have a 3.2+ GPA
  • Applicants must be seeking admission to a graduate program that will assist in obtaining a career in intercollegiate athletics.
  • Applicants may not have begun any postgraduate studies.
  • Must be U.S. citizens.
  • Applicants must have performed with distinction as a student body member at their institution.
  • Outstanding citizens and excellent role models for the institution and intercollegiate athletics as a whole.
  • Must have performed with distinction as a student body member at their respective undergraduate institution.


NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships ($10,000 - 3 times a year)

  • Must achieve a 3.20 undergraduate GPA.
  • Must be nominated in final season of intercollegiate athletics and competition.
  • Must have performed with distinction as a member of the varsity team.
  • Intend to apply for graduate/professional school as a part- or full-time graduate student
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities and is a good example to other student athletes


NCAA Walter Byers Postgraduate Scholarship (1 male and 1 female $24,000 each; renewable)

  • Must be a graduating senior or be enrolled in graduate study.
  • Must achieve a 3.50 cumulative GPA.
  • Competed in a letter in a varsity intercollegiate sport while at Auburn.
  • Committed to working toward post-graduate or professional degree full-time within next 5 years
  • Evidence of superior character and leadership
  • Demonstrated that participation in athletics and community created a positive influence on development
     

NCAA Jim McKay Postgraduate Scholarship (1 male and 1 female $10,000 each)

  • Demonstrate efforts in the communication field or have an interest beyond their major to make a contribution to sports communication
  • Must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA.
  • Must have competed in intercollegiate athletics as a member of a varsity team at an NCAA Institution.
  • Be enrolled in graduate study or be a graduating senior. 
  • Plans to enroll in graduate or professional school within 5 years of selection
  • Ascribe to the highest levels of integrity, including the principles of truthfulness, accuracy, objectivity, impartiality, fairness and public accountability
     

NACDA John McLendon Minority Scholarship (8 - $10,000 awards)

  • Meet the federal guidelines for definition as a minority
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.2
  • Be planning to pursue a postgraduate course of study in athletics administration within five years of receipt of the award.  
  • Have demonstrated leadership qualities on a college/university or community level.
  • Candidate is a current full-time senior and plans to pursue a graduate degree in athletics administration; OR
  • Candidate is currently enrolled in a full-time capacity in an athletics administration graduate program
