Djenane Paul (pronounced Jen-ann) was named Executive Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator at Auburn in March 2022. Paul served as an administrator at Fordham University as its Deputy Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Welfare and Competitive Excellence/SWA since October of 2021. 

She served as the Rams’ Senior Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator upon her arrival at the school in August of 2016. Prior to joining Fordham, Paul was at Virginia Commonwealth University as its Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Services.

During her tenure at Fordham, Paul was a member of the senior leadership team and was responsible for assisting the overall internal management and supervision of the Department of Athletics. She served as the sport administrator for multiple sports, including men’s basketball, softball, volleyball and track and field, while also having oversight of the department’s compliance, sports medicine, strength and conditioning and student-athlete behavioral health services and nutrition services units. Among Paul’s numerous other duties, she was the Deputy Title IX Coordinator and athletics liaison with many departments on campus.

Paul, who had been at VCU since 2014, was responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and management of a comprehensive athletics compliance program, including the development of policies and procedures to ensure the Rams compliance with applicable NCAA and Atlantic 10 rules and regulations. She also managed the Director of Compliance and the Compliance Coordinator.

In 2014-2015, Paul was the Director of Compliance at VCU. She assisted in the coordination and maintenance of the compliance program and helped establish, implement, monitor and enforce policies and procedures and assisted in monitoring and certifying financial aid.

No stranger to Fordham, Paul served as the Compliance Coordinator there in 2013-14 where she assisted in overseeing all compliance matters related to playing and practice seasons, recruiting and initial eligibility for all new and transferring student-athletes, along with financial aid. Paul also aided in completing the Academic Progress Report for Fordham as well as in conducting NCAA rules education for student-athletes, coaches and institutional faculty and staff.

A 2009 graduate of Stony Brook University with a degree in Psychology, Paul also earned a master's degree from the school in 2010 in Public Policy. As an undergraduate, she served as an Assistant Director of Football Operations for the Seawolves from 2007-09. In 2009-10, Paul was a graduate assistant with the Stony Brook football team, coordinating activities related to official and unofficial visits, organizing databases of prospective student-athlete profiles and briefing student-athletes on issues associated within NCAA regulations.

Paul received a Juris Doctorate from the Florida A&M University College of Law in 2013. She spent 2012-13 at the Marquette University Law School where she served as a student worker for the National Sports Law Institute. She will graduate with her MBA from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business Executive MBA program in May 2022.
