Education: Walsh earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education and sports medicine from ETSU in 1984. He went on to obtain his master’s degree from Auburn in 1985 in exercise physiology, with an area of concentration in biomechanics. Walsh completed his bachelor's degree in physical therapy at MUSC in 1988.

Job Responsibilities: Walsh began overseeing the rehab of Auburn athletes in the Fall of 2005. He currently serves as Manager of Rehabilitation for Auburn Athletics.

Past Experience: 

Walsh began his professional athletic training career as the assistant athletic trainer for football, basketball and baseball at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., from 1985-88. From there he moved on and became a staff physical therapist at the Hughston Sports Medicine Clinic in Columbus, GA from 1988-89. Walsh served as the Director of Physical Therapy (Rehabilitation Services) at Doctor's Hospital in Columbus, Ga., from 1989-90. He moved back to his home state and assumed the duties of Director and Chief Physical Therapist at Northside Hospital in Johnson City, Tenn., from 1990-91. Staying in Johnson City, Walsh moved over to the collegiate ranks as Co-Curriculum Director and off-site physical therapy Clinic Director at East Tennessee State University from 1991-1998. He also served on the medical staff for U.S. Track and Field during the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Walsh moved to Auburn in 1998 to become Director of the HealthSouth Physical Therapy Clinic until accepting his current position. Walsh is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the American Physical Therapy Association, Southeastern Athletic Trainers' Association, and the Alabama Athletic Trainers Association. He is a founding member of Mountain Empire Sports Medicine Society. In 1992 Walsh was appointed as a board committee member to advocate working relationships between physical therapists and athletic trainers in Nashville, Tenn.

Personal: The Bluff City, Tennessee native is married to his wife, Kelly, (formerly Ladye) of Columbus, Ga., Their family includes daughter Emily, son-in-law Trevor and grandson Connor Maverick. They currently reside in Auburn.
