Education: Dr. Ferrera earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of La Verne in California, where he played varsity basketball for four seasons. After earning his master's in counseling with an emphasis in sport psychology from Boston University, Ferrera earned his doctorate in sport and exercise psychology, and an additional master's in counseling, from West Virginia University.

Job Responsibilities: Joining the Auburn family in October 2018, Dr. Ferrera provides individual mental health and performance counseling, crisis intervention, consultation and outreach on clinical issues salient to student-athletes. He also develops performance enhancement workshops for small groups, coaches and teams.

Past Experience: Dr. Ferrera came to Auburn from the University of Washington, where he served as associate director of counseling and sport psychology. From 2014-17, he was a cognitive performance coach for U.S. Army Special Operations soldiers at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Prior to Fort Bragg, Dr. Ferrera worked at West Virginia University as a sport psychology consultant from 2008-11 and career services counselor from 2011-14. He began his career at Northeastern University as a student-athlete mentor from 2006-07.

Personal: A native Californian, Adrian and his wife, Pascha Adamo, live in Auburn with their daughter, Sophia, and son, Judah. Dr. Ferrera enjoys skateboarding, snowboarding and surfing.
