Becky Fletcher begins her fifth season at Auburn after being hired in July of 2003. As an assistant this season, she will be primarily responsible for setting up the Tigers[apos] defense, working primarily with the backs and holding mids. She will also continue to scout AU[apos]s upcoming opponents with fellow assistant Keidane McAlpine.

Last year, Fletcher[apos]s first in charge of the defense, the Tigers allowed just 14 regular-season goals, which was half of what the team surrendered during the 2005 campaign. She was also an integral part of the coaching of Ronda Brooks, who became the first player from a SEC West school to win a major conference award when she was tabbed the SEC Defensive Player of the Year.

A native of Columbia, S.C., Fletcher came to Auburn after serving as head coach of Erskine College in South Carolina for the 2002 season where she took on all coaching responsibilities as well as other functions such as public relations and fund raising.

During her first two years on the Plains, Fletcher worked primarily with the offense, assisted in match analysis, recruiting, Auburn[apos]s summer soccer camps and various other administrative duties, including coordination of all of Auburn[apos]s travel. She also plays a significant role in the team[apos]s technical development.

Before her stint at Erskine, Fletcher was the first assistant coach at Tennessee Tech, where she was responsible for recruiting, coaching field players, administration and organizing the Golden Eagle soccer camp. Other coaching stops for Fletcher include serving as a graduate assistant coach at Tennessee Tech from 1999-2001 and as an assistant coach at Erskine from 1998-99.

While at Tennessee Tech, the team was named as one of the most improved Division I soccer programs of 2000 and was ranked in the top 25 in shutout percentage for the 2001 season.

In addition to Fletcher[apos]s collegiate experience, she has earned her NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and her NSCAA National Diploma and helped coach the Alabama state ODP U16 team.

Fletcher is a 1998 graduate of Erskine, where she helped lead the team to its first conference title by scoring the game-winning goal in the championship game. A team captain her junior and senior seasons, Fletcher was also a two-time CVAC All-Tournament team member. While at Tennessee Tech, Fletcher earned her Master[apos]s in Health and Physical Education with a concentration in Lifetime Wellness.

Fletcher is the daughter of John and Judy Fletcher of Anderson, S.C., and is the proud aunt of Grayson (6) and Allie (4) Fletcher.
