Education: Phillips earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Tennessee in 1999 and a Master of Science in English Education from the University of Tennessee in 2000. In 2024, she completed an ESL endorsement at the University of Utah.
Job Responsibilities: As a Learning Specialist, Phillips collaborates with Athletics Department staff and campus colleagues to provide tailored services that meet the unique needs of student-athletes across all teams. Her work focuses on supporting their academic and athletic development while addressing the specific challenges they face.
Experience: Phillips began her career in secondary education, teaching high school English in Marietta, Georgia. Most recently, she served in the Canyons School District in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, as a 6th Grade ELA Teacher, MTSS Assistant, and Media Center Assistant. Additionally, she has worked as a freelance book editor, assisting self-published authors in effectively communicating their stories.
Personal: A native of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Phillips is married to Auburn University graduate Chad Phillips. They have three children — Ansley (Auburn University), Harper (University of Utah), and Samuel (a future Auburn Tiger).
