Education: Jackson is a graduate of Auburn University.

Job Responsibilities: Jackson serves as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Governance and Strategic Initiatives. In this role, he assists the Executive Senior Associate AD for Compliance by providing leadership in managing strategic projects, advancing governance initiatives, and ensuring continuity of leadership across the department. His work supports forward-looking planning while maintaining accountability for select regulatory functions.

Experience: Prior to returning to Auburn, Jackson spent more than 13 years at Baylor University, where he served as the Executive Senior Associate AD for Governance and Regulatory Affairs. In that role, he oversaw NCAA Compliance, Title IX, Student Conduct Administration, Policy & Procedure, Risk Management, Audit, and other regulatory areas within the athletics department. He also led the B Association (letterwinners club), directed the Sport Administration program, and served as Sport Administrator for Baylor Baseball.

During his tenure at Baylor, Jackson chaired and participated on numerous national, conference, and institutional committees. In 2018, he chaired the Athletics Department strategic initiative team that yielded One Standard. One Accord., establishing the department’s mission statement, operating principles, and core values. During his tenure, Baylor Athletics achieved:

  • 13 team national championships, including two in women’s basketball and one in men’s basketball
  • 50 team Big 12 championships across 10 sports
  • 10 football bowl appearances, including four New Year’s Six games
  • 20 National Player of the Year honors, including one Heisman Trophy winner
  • 22 first-round draft picks and 99 total draft selections across football, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball
  • The construction of McLane Stadium (2014) and Foster Pavilion (2023), marking Baylor as the only Power 5 institution in over 50 years to build a new football stadium and basketball arena

Before his time at Baylor, Jackson spent 12 years at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, beginning in 1999 as a marketing assistant during UAB’s first year of competition for all sports. He advanced to Associate Athletics Director and senior management team member, overseeing marketing, promotions, team travel, apparel contracts, event management, and compliance, while serving as sport administrator for multiple programs.

Personal: A native of both Eufaula and Opelika, Alabama, Jackson graduated from Auburn University in 1999. He and his wife, Michele Kennedy of Opelika, were married in January 2006.
