Education: Corie Baldwin attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography (2014). She continued her studies at the University of Illinois, earning a master’s degree in Recreation, Sport, and Tourism (2017). Baldwin later obtained her Education Specialist degree in Adult Education from Auburn University in 2021.
Job Responsibilities: As Director of Aquatics at the James Martin Aquatic Center, Baldwin oversees daily operations, maintenance, and programming for the university’s state-of-the-art aquatic facilities. She supports the center’s mission to facilitate top-tier competitive, educational, and recreational swimming and diving events, which are essential to both the Swim and Dive teams and the broader university community.
Experience: Baldwin has spent the majority of her career in Campus Recreation, beginning at the University of Illinois in a shared aquatics facility utilized by both Campus Recreation and Athletics. At Auburn University, she began as Aquatics Coordinator, overseeing the campus leisure pool. In 2021, she transitioned to Assistant Director of Assessment and Risk Management, focusing on developing assessment tools to support the mission of Recreation and Wellness and Student Affairs. In this role, she was also responsible for risk management across facilities and programs, as well as the professional development of 350 student employees. During her time as Assistant Director, she continued to oversee the aquatics area.
Personal: Baldwin moved to Auburn in the summer of 2017 and has called it home ever since. She met her husband here in 2018, and they married in 2022. The couple lives in Auburn with their Husky/Chow Chow mix, Rizzy, who keeps them on their toes. In their free time, the Baldwins enjoy traveling, attending Auburn sporting events, and staying active through running and fitness. Corie has completed the Chicago Marathon twice.
