Education: Watkins earned a bachelor’s degree (2013) and a master’s degree (2015) from Mississippi State University.
Job Responsibilities: As Senior Associate AD for Marketing & Revenue Generation, Watkins will provide daily leadership for three units – Marketing and Digital Strategy, Ticket Operations and Sales, and Auburn Sports Properties – along with other revenue-generating auxiliaries and partnerships.
Experience: Watkins comes to Auburn from Wake Forest where he was responsible for Revenue Generation, Fan Experience, Digital & Email Marketing, Licensing & Branding and the Spirit & Band units. While at Wake Forest, he implemented strategic marketing and sales strategies that resulted in numerous revenue and attendance records, including the highest combined football revenue in school history and the highest total ticket revenue in the history of women’s basketball and baseball. Prior to his time at Wake Forest, Watkins spent four-and-a-half years at Mississippi State serving in numerous roles throughout the external unit. His last role was as the chief marketing and branding representative for the department where he led the Marketing, Fan Experience and Creative units. Watkins also worked in Berkeley, California for the University of California in numerous roles within the marketing and ticketing units.
Personal: A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Watkins is married to Shelby Watkins. He has a younger brother who is currently a graduate student at Auburn.
