Osteen returns for his fifth year as assistant coach at Auburn. In 2011-12, Osteen helped the Tigers continue their impressive streak of play while guiding Auburn to five All-SEC honors. Since arriving on The Plains as assistant to head coach Nick Clinard, the Tigers have racked up six team and six individual titles.
Osteen spent 2009 at UCF as the Knights finished in the top 10 at the 2009 NCAA Championship and won the NCAA Southeast Regional title by defeating No. 2 Georgia and No. 13 South Carolina along with claiming the school[apos]s first Conference USA Championship. The Knights also won The Hummingbird Intercollegiate and the Rio Pinar Invitational.
In 2009, Osteen worked with a PING All-America second team selection who was also named to the Golf Coaches Association of America National five-man All-Freshman team and garnered Conference USA Golfer of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors. The 2008-09 UCF team also featured a pair of first-team All-Conference USA selections, two second-team All-Conference USA members and two GCCA All-South Region team picks.
Prior to joining UCF, Osteen assisted with operations at the Pablo Creek Golf Club in Jacksonville, Fla., where he also worked for AXA advisors as a financial professional. He also has experience working for Toll Brothers, serving as a sales associate for the home builder.
Osteen graduated from North Florida in 2005 with a bachelor[apos]s degree in business administration. He competed in eight tournaments for the Ospreys. He began his collegiate career at Central Alabama Community College where he helped his team win three tournament titles in 2001 and a runner-up finish at the National Junior College Athletic Association Championship. Osteen notched three top five tournament finishes during the 2000-01 season and also finished in the top 25 at the national championship.
During his time at North Florida, he worked at the Tournament Players Club at Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. He played in the 2002 U.S. Amateur in Michigan, tied for 11th at the Rice Planters Invitational and had a top 30 finish at the Palmetto Amateur. Osteen has been an instructor with the PGA Tour[apos]s First Tee Program and the Florida Collegiate Golf Coaches Camp. The Kings Mountain, N.C., native was an all-conference performer in golf, football and soccer at Kings Mountain High.
