Education: Sargent attended Auburn University from 2003–06, studying Rehabilitation and Special Education before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Exceptional Student Education from Florida Atlantic University in 2008. She earned a Master of Education in Exceptional Student Education in 2020 and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership in 2025, both from Lynn University. While at Lynn, she served as an advisory committee member for the Exceptional Student Education Master’s Program and as a guest professor for undergraduate education courses.

Job Responsibilities: As a Learning Specialist for Auburn Athletics, Sargent works collaboratively with Student-Athlete Support Services to provide individualized academic support for student-athletes. Her responsibilities include developing personalized learning plans, teaching study skills and executive functioning strategies, coordinating accommodations with the Office of Accessibility, collaborating with academic counselors, monitoring academic progress, and helping student-athletes develop skills for long-term academic success and graduation.

Experience: Prior to joining Auburn, Sargent spent more than 17 years as an Exceptional Student Education teacher and academic strategist in Palm Beach County schools. Throughout her career, she developed and implemented Individualized Education Programs, provided differentiated instruction to at-risk students, monitored student progress, and collaborated with teachers, administrators, and families. She also served in several leadership roles, including Clinical Educator for new teachers, Professional Learning Community leader, Student Government Co-Chair, School-Wide Positive Behavior Support team member, and Local Education Agency representative.

Personal: Sargent relocated to Auburn after spending 20 years in South Florida. She is married and has two teenage daughters. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, exercising, and attending Auburn sporting events.
