Education: Mericle earned a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Virginia Tech in 2024 and a master’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Virginia Tech in 2025. While at Virginia Tech, she served as a research assistant in the Nutrition, Energy, and Metabolism Lab, contributing to a study focused on healthy weight gain in recreational athletes.

Job Responsibilities: As a Sports Dietitian for Sport Nutrition, Mericle serves as the primary dietitian for Auburn Equestrian and Swim & Dive while also serving as the secondary dietitian for Baseball.

Experience: While at Virginia Tech, Mericle worked as the student nutrition coordinator for the men’s and women’s basketball programs and spent one year as a student nutrition staff member supporting the football team. Most recently, she served as the Gatorade SNIP Fellow at the University of Maryland, overseeing nutrition support for field hockey, women’s lacrosse, women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s golf.

Personal: Coming from a Navy family, Mericle was born in Bremerton, Washington, and grew up in Newport News, Virginia. She is one of four children, with an older sister, younger sister, and younger brother. Mericle enjoys visiting new coffee shops, running, and playing guitar and piano.
