Education: Brownback graduated from Gardner-Webb University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. He went on to graduate from Mercer University with a Master of Education in Higher Education Leadership in 2015.
 
Job Responsibilities: Brownback serves as an Academic Counselor working with the Baseball and Soccer teams.
 
Past Experience: While earning his master’s degree, Brownback worked as a Graduate Assistant Coach for men’s basketball at Mercer. After graduation, Brownback held titles of Academic Coordinator and Director of Student-Athlete Services, before being promoted to the position of Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Services at Mercer.
 
Personal: A native of North Carolina, Matt and his wife live in Auburn with their daughter and 2 dogs.
