Former Auburn golfer Ryan Cabbage enters his second season with the Tiger women[apos]s golf team. Prior to joining the women[apos]s golf staff, Cabbage had spent the previous 10 seasons with the Auburn men[apos]s team, under former head coach Mike Griffin.
In his first season under Auburn head coach Kim Evans, Cabbage helped the Tigers to a fifth-place finish at the SEC Championship and a return to the NCAA Championship, where the Tigers finished in a tie for 11th in the nation.
Before joining Evans[apos] staff, Cabbage helped turn the Auburn men[apos]s golf program into one of the top programs in the country. The Tigers reached the NCAA Championships in seven of the 10 seasons he served under Griffin, including nine NCAA Regionals. In 2004, Cabbage was runner-up for the Assistant Coach of the Year, which is presented by TaylorMade-Adidas Golf.
A native of Rutledge, Tenn., Cabbage played his first two years at Walters State Community College in Morristown, Tenn., where he was the 1995 National Junior College Individual Champion. Cabbage lettered at Auburn from 1996-98 and competed in the 1997 NCAA Championship at Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Ill.
Before coming back to Auburn, Cabbage spent a year with the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour in Opelika as a tournament director.
Cabbage is married to the former Jennifer Falkner of Marietta, Ga. They are the proud parents of three boys, twins Carson Sawyer and Maddox Falkner, born Feb. 16, 2004; and Davis Ryan, born Dec. 19, 2005. He is a 1998 Auburn University graduate with a B.A. in Communications.
