Former Auburn All-American Sophia Davila (née Groth) was been named an assistant coach on April 29, 2026.
Davila was a two-time All-American and an All-SEC performer for the Tigers, competing for Auburn from 2022-25. She was a consistent contributor on all four events, having career scores in the top 10 on Auburn’s all-time list on beam and floor.
The West Des Moines, Iowa native finished her career with 185 routines as an Auburn Tiger, competing in the all-around 28 times.
Davila graduated with her degree in exercise science in May 2024 and earned a master’s in adult administration in May 2025. She was named the 2025 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and finished her collegiate career as a four-time WCGA Scholastic All-American and a three-time SEC Community Service Team member. She was also placed on the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team (Winter) and was honored as team captain.
Davila spent the 2025-26 academic year in Dallas, working for SMU as an Athletics Development Assistant.
She married Paul Davila, a former Auburn cheerleader, in May 2025.
