Tammy Waine returns to her alma mater as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the 2009 soccer team. Waine lettered at Auburn from 1998-01 and still holds the school record for goals and points scored in a season and returns to Auburn after spending the last eight years playing and coaching in her native England.
Waine remains the Auburn school record holder for goals and points scored in a season with 16 and 35, respectively, done in 2000 while playing in just 12 games as she was lost for the final portion of the season after injuring her ACL. For her career she tallied 33 goals and 78 career points, both of which remain in the top four of Auburn[apos]s career records.
Graduating in 2002, she returned to England to play semi-pro soccer for Fullham Ladies FC, playing in the women[apos]s UEFA Cup, the League Cup Final and Community Shield. In 2004 she rejoined Brighton and Hove Albion, which she played with prior to coming to Auburn as a freshman, while also being a member of the England Women[apos]s National Training Camp. In England, she works for Adur District Council as a sports development officer and the Brighton and Hove Albion Girls Center of Excellence, coaching the U-14/U-16 squads.
Waine is a UEFA B licensed coach and is also British Weight Training Qualified. Last season a pair of her players represented the England National Squads at the U-15/U-17 level.
