Began at Auburn: March 2023

Education: Ward earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Brenau University in Gainesville, GA. She then obtained her Master’s degree in Accounting at Auburn University. Additionally, Tara is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Alabama.

Job Responsibilities: In her professional role, Tara supports the Associate Athletic Director and CFO of Tigers Unlimited with oversight of business operations and financial reporting for the Tigers Unlimited Foundation.

Experience: Ward has been a part of the Auburn Family since 2018, when she began her first role as a senior accountant in the College of Nursing. Prior to beginning her career at Auburn University, she worked in public accounting for 22 years, followed by 7 years managing the accounting for a large regional ambulance service in Georgia.

Personal: Ward, a native of Clarkesville, GA, has always had a passion for all things Auburn. She is the proud mother of three grown children—Brett, Courtney, and Kaylie—two of whom are Auburn alumni. Between her three children, she has four granddaughters. Tara shares her home with a large orange cat named Leo, who is a charmer but very insistent on sticking to his own schedule. Tara is an avid sports fan and movie trivia enthusiast and she also enjoys serving in various capacities at her church.
