Taylor Hammond joins the Auburn volleyball staff after spending last year as an assistant men’s volleyball coach at Orange Coast College. Hammond also spent 2020 serving as an assistant coach at El Toro High School and for 949 Volleyball Club.
Prior to joining Orange Coast College, Hammond spent two seasons as the varsity head coach at Dana Hills High School while continuing to coach at El Toro and 949 Volleyball Club in varying capacities. Over the 2018-2019 seasons, Hammond led Dana Hills to a CIF SS Division II Quarterfinal appearance.
During the 2017-2018 season, Hammons served as the junior varsity coach for Dana Hills’ girls’ program, leading the team to a 19-7 overall record and league championship while also serving as the head coach at Santa Margarita High School.
Hammond played collegiate volleyball at Penn State University, leading the Nittany Lions to three Final Four appearances. Hamond was a four-time All-Conference selection as a starting setter and won four conference titles at Penn State.
Playing professionally overseas, Hammond competed in Germany and was twice named match MVP and finished a semifinalist in the German Cup.
Hammond earned his bachelor’s degree in communication arts and sciences with a minor in business of liberal arts from Penn State in 2016.
