Overview

Auburn Athletics is excited to begin the search for a Lifeguard to oversee the safety of pool patrons! The facility is open daily to the public for use and is also utilized by various student groups and local clubs. Lifeguards provide safety and oversight for all activities in the facility and respond to any emergencies. They also assist with other operational duties such as guest check-in, event set-up/breakdown and clean up.

About Auburn Aquatics: James E. Martin Aquatics Center is located between Beard-Eaves Coliseum and the Student Activities Center. It houses an Olympic-size pool with three moveable bulkheads which allow for variable distance competition and simultaneous diving as well as an instructional pool used for various classes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the safety of pool patrons while utilizing the facility
  • Assist with set-up and breakdown for events
  • Clean-up and light custodial duties
  • Member/guest check-in

Qualifications

  • Enrolled student at Auburn University
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/Certifications Please upload copy of certification with application

Expectations:

  • Ability to work early mornings, nights, weekends. Summers and holiday breaks preferred
  • Ability to swim 500 yards, treat water with diving brick for 1 min and retrieve object from bottom of diving well

Preferred:

  • Previous life guarding experience
  • Ability to work summers and breaks

Overview

The Student-Athlete Support Services Tiger Tutor Program is designed to enhance student-athletes’ educational experience, which can be accomplished by helping students help themselves. We are excited to begin the search for a Tiger Tutor to join the team!

 


This posting is an ongoing applicant pool; our peak interviewing/hiring is as follows. Fall term-June/July interviews, Spring term-November/early December interviews, Summer-April interviews. 

Responsibilities

  • As a Tutor, you would play a major role in the student-athlete’s ability to master course material through individual and small group sessions.
  • Tiger tutors meet regularly with students to assist them in building active study and learning skills, improving study habits, and developing comprehension.
  • Tutoring activities may include reviewing class materials, discussing course readings, creating study guides, or problem solving.
  • Tutors are responsible for submitted reports of sessions in a timely manner.
  • The Tutor is expected to maintain and respect confidentiality related to the student-athlete, SASS, and AU Athletics, as well as maintain and exhibit a high degree of professionalism and integrity at all times.
  • Of utmost importance, tutors must have a commitment to upholding the University’s Student Academic Honesty Code as well as NCAA Bylaws.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as an Auburn University undergraduate student
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2
  • Minimum grade of ‘B’ or better in specific courses tutored

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Junior standing or higher

Auburn Athletics is excited to begin the search for an Equestrian Center Student Worker! Student workers in the Equestrian Center assist with, and maintain daily care of Equestrian Center Horses.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality daily care of the horses at the Equestrian Center
  • Clean stalls, feed, water, turnouts and blanketing of horses
  • Administer medications and perform medical treatments
  • Oversee general horse health
  • Assist with veterinary and farrier when needed
  • Additional duties to be assigned

Qualifications

    • Enrolled student at Auburn University

Expectations:
  • Applicants must have prior experience interacting with horses.
  • Must be able to work at least 2 mornings and additional afternoons.
  • Ability to work 10-20 hours a week, including some weekends
  • Ability to work during breaks and holidays
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

Overview

Auburn Athletics is excited to begin the search for a Graduate Assistant – Creative Video! This role involves assisting with the ideation, creation, and execution of video content for Auburn’s Olympic sports, with assignments to one or two specific sports per season. Responsibilities include capturing and editing video content for social media, marketing, and in-venue presentations, as well as supporting live event coverage and post-production projects.

 


Responsibilities

  • Works as the video and social sport lead for assigned sport.
  • Assists in the planning and execution of video production shoots. This includes pre-production, production, and post-production.
  • Creates video for social content and requested video for assigned sport.
  • Assists with the development of social media strategies for assigned sport.
  • Attends weekly meetings within WEC and attends assigned meetings within the Athletics Department.
  • Assists in the fulfillment of corporate sponsorships with Auburn Sports Properties.
  • Assists with the workflow, production, and management of gamedays.
  • Assists with the management and supervision of student employees.
  • Complies with all applicable National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Southeastern Conference (SEC) regulations in the performance of job duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Admitted to a graduate degree-seeking or certificate program.
  • Registered for at least one course during each academic term of the assistantship.
Expectations:
  • Must be available to work some nights and/or weekends when necessary.
