April 25 - Mandatory Clinic (Check-in will begin at 4 p.m. and clinic will start at 4:30 p.m.)
April 26 - Tryouts (Check-in will begin a 8 a.m.)
- Both the clinic and tryouts will be held in Neville Arena. Please enter through the Scholarship Entrance.
- You must complete this registration form PRIOR to coming to clinic on April 25.
- BOTH THE CLINIC AND TRYOUTS ARE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC.
TRYOUT REQUIREMENTS
- ALL candidates must be enrolled as a full-time Auburn University student for the 2024 Spring semester and have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
- High school seniors and transfer students may try out if they have been accepted to Auburn University for the Fall 2024 semester.
- GPA verification form linked separately via google doc.
- NO video entries accepted. In-person tryout only.
- Every candidate MUST BRING THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ITEMS WITH THEM TO CHECK-IN ON APRIL 25:
- 5x7 current headshot
- GPA verification from Dean's office or the Registrar's Office in a sealed envelope (for current Auburn Students) OR copy of your official acceptance letter from Auburn University Registrar's Office (high school senior/transfer student)
- $100 tryout fee - CASH ONLY
TRYOUT PROCESS
- Candidates will perform a jazz, hip-hop, pom, and sideline routine that will be taught to them at the clinic on April 25.
- The routines will have technique and tricks. Potential technique includes but is not limited to the following: turns in second, changing spot turns in second, coupe turns, pirouettes, leaps, calypso, firebird, leg extension, ariel, toe touch, kip up, and head spring.
- The sideline will consist of traditional cheer/pom movements and will be similar to what you see the Tiger Paws perform on the sidelines of football games.
- The pom routine will include pom style choreography and technique that you see the Tiger Paws perform at basketball timeouts or halftimes.
- The jazz, hip-hop, pom, and sideline routines will be performed in small groups in front of the panel of judges for the first/technical round of tryouts.
- The top 30 candidates will be announced after the technical round and will proceed to the final round of tryouts which is a one-on-one interview with the judges. You will remain in your tryout attire/dance clothes for the interview.
- Call-outs will be at Cater Hall at approximately 5 p.m. Exact time will be announced at the conclusion of tryouts.
TRYOUT ATTIRE
- Fitted full length top or leotard - any color, design, or fabric
- Black boy shorts
- Jazz shoes
- Tennis shoes/cheer shoes
- **Poms will be provided
