The <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Auburn University tennis team finished day three of the ITA South Regionals in Tuscaloosa on Saturday. Freshman Jil Hasternath is the lone Tiger still alive in the tournament.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
Hasternath beat Paulina Bigos of Alabama, 6-4, 6-2 and Suzi Mansour of Florida State, 7-6(2), 6-3 to advance to the semifinal round of B singles where she will take on Kimber Redfern of Florida A&M.
In the women's A singles bracket, sophomore Whitney Chappell fell to Gina Sabatino of Miami, 6-1, 6-2 in the second round of the consolation bracket, while sophomore Alex Haney defeated Vanessa Sanchez of North Florida, 6-2, 6-2 but fell to Emese Sulyos of Jacksonville in the quarterfinals.
In women's B singles play, freshman Heather Bybee beat Sara Brinkley of Florida A&M on Saturday, 6-3, 6-2 but lost to Zoe Kent, 6-3, 6-2 in the quarterfinal round of the consolation bracket. Sophomore Kelly Adams dropped her match, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 to Bianca Svensson of Alabama in the quarterfinal round of the consolation bracket.
