Men Fifth And Women Eighth In Latest Regional Cross Country Polls

Sept. 24, 2007

The Auburn men's cross country team has moved up to take the No. 5 spot, and the women are holding strong at No.8 in the Division I Cross Country Southeast Regional polls which were released Monday.

The Bulldog Stampede meet proved to be successful for the men's team with the Tigers once again taking home the victory. The women placed third just behind nationally-ranked Georgia and Tennessee. The men finished first out of ten teams, and the women finished third out of nine teams.

The women were without their top finisher from the season opener, but were still able to put up impressive times at the Bulldog Stampede. On the men's side, Felix Kiboiywo posted the top collegiate finish last week with an 8k time of 24:45.93.

The men's and women's team will be back in action at home on Sept. 29 at the annual Tiger Invitational being held at the Indian Pines Golf Course. The women are set to kick off the event at 9:30 a.m., with the men to follow at 10:15 a.m.
