TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Junior Lukas Marsoun advanced to the third round of singles competition with back-to-back victories Friday in the Seminole Invitational hosted by Florida State.
Marsoun defeated South Alabama's Aaron Krisan (6-0, 6-1) and Illinois' Calon Alpar (6-2, 6-1), increasing his Auburn career record to 32-18.
"It is Marsoun's first tournament of the fall," said head coach Eric Shore. "He has been hurt and we need to get him healthy.
"He was playing really well at the end of last season and we are counting on big things from him this season, so this is a good start. Hopefully he can finish strong this fall."
Auburn junior Hunter Mills was defeated by Central Florida's Brock Sakey 6-2, 6-1, while sophomore Nick Maurillo lost to Georgia's Drake Bernstein (7-5, 6-3).
