AUBURN - Auburn's Felix Kiboiywo has been named Southeastern Conference Cross Country Male Athlete of the Week following his performance Sept. 27 at the Roy Griak Invitational, the league office announced Tuesday.
"Felix has a very solid first race back considering the limited training he has done this fall," head cross country coach Peter Watson said. "It is a nice honor for him and I'm sure there are big things in front of him this fall."
Running in his first race of his junior campaign, Kiboiywo placed seventh at the 8K Roy Griak Invitational in a time of 24:17.9. Kiboiywo was one of two top 10 finishers for the Tigers and helped pace the No. 21 Auburn men's cross country team to a fifth-place finish.
Kiboiywo holds the second-fastest 8K time in the SEC at 24:17.9. This is the second time in Kiboiywo's career that he has received Athlete of the Week honors.
