AUBURN - Auburn's Michel Monteiro advanced to the semifinals of the Crimson Tide Fall Classic Saturday, leading a group of three Tigers at the tournament.
In the quarterfinal round, Monteiro defeated Bryan Kenyon of Jacksonville State, 6-3, 6-4.Moving on to the semifinals, Monteiro fell to Victor Vaz of Jacksonville University, 6-4, 6-4.
Hunter Mills was also in action in the consolation bracket, falling to Southern Mississippi's Jan Burnmeister in the quarterfinals, 6-2, 6-1.
Alex Petropoulos advanced to the consolation finals after defeating Andrey Yesipov of Tennessee-Martin, 6-0, 6-3, and Carson Kadi of Samford, 6-1, 6-3. He will return to action in Sunday's final round.
