LAS VEGAS -- The Auburn men's tennis team concluded the Larry Easley Memorial Classic by winning the flight one singles and doubles championship and the flight two singles championship at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Sunday in Las Vegas.
In the flight one singles championship, top-seeded Andreas Mies defeated Fresno State's Francis Alcantara in a three-set thriller, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4, to win his second straight tournament.
Senior Alex Stamchev and sophomore Daniel Cochrane won the flight one doubles title after edging Jean-Charles Diame and Francis Alcantara of Fresno State, 9-7.
In flight two singles championship match, Cochrane raced past Arkansas' Manfred Jeske, 6-2, 6-2.
The Tigers will head to the Sunshine State next weekend to participate in the UCF Invitational in Orlando, Fla., for the last tournament of the fall season. In addition, Mies will travel to Flushing Meadows, N.Y., to compete in the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships.
