AUBURN, Ala. -
Early struggles in both doubles and singles plagued the 39th- ranked Tigers on Friday as they fell 4-1 to No. 66 Alabama at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.

"Credit to Alabama. They handled the moment better than we did," Auburn head coach Eric Shore said. "We have to be sharper and tougher and be ready for Sunday. We have to be men about it and move on."

After a 44-minute rain delay, doubles play was moved into the indoor facility. Alabama clinched the doubles point after winning the first two matches in doubles, 6-1 on court one and 6-4 on court two.

Junior Maxime Hinnisdaels won Auburn's only match of the day, topping Danny Kerznerman on Court 3 by a score of 6-3, 6-4. The Tigers saw two matches go unfinished.

Auburn, now 11-5 on the year, hosts the No. 42 Mississippi State Bulldogs on Sunday.

"We know they (Mississippi State) are a very good team," Eric Shore said. "It is a good opportunity for us, but we are going to have to play better."

The match against Mississippi State is set to begin at 1 p.m. Admission to the match is free.
