AUBURN, Ala. -
Strong all-around play propelled 45th-ranked Auburn to a 4-0 morning win and a 4-0 afternoon win over Jacksonville State on Thursday at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.

Auburn moves to 14-7 on the season while Jacksonville State improves to 5-9.

"SEC play tends to beat you down so from that standpoint these matches were good," Auburn head coach Eric Shore said. "Overall, it was a good day and we have to build on it. It's crunch time"

Auburn started the morning by winning the doubles point after a 6-3 win on court one from Lukas Ollert and Marko Krickovic over Jeff Wendler-Filho and Pedro Wagner. Oliver Plaskett and Petar Tomic clinched the doubles point for Auburn with a 6-4 win over Felipe Diaz and Jaryd Reese on court two.

In morning singles, Marko Krickovic defeated Pedro Wagner 6-2, 6-1 on court two while Petar Tomic took down Jaryd Reese 6-0, 6-2 on court five. Oliver Plaskett clinched the match, defeating Felipe Wenzel 6-2, 6-2 on six.

Auburn continued its strong play in the afternoon, again taking the doubles point. Maxime Hinnisdaels and Joseph Van Dooren took their match 6-3 over Gabriel Pastera and Mathias Chaim on court three followed by a 6-4 win by Lukas Ollert and Marko Krickovic over Jeff Wendler-Filho and Pedro Wagner on court two.

Dante Saleh topped Mathias Chaim 6-2, 6-1 playing at number three followed by Maxime Hinnisdaels defeating Pedro Wagner 6-2, 6-3 at the two spot. Oliver Plaskett clinched his third-straight match for the Tigers, beating Gabriel Pansera 6-3, 6-1.

"Oliver Plaskett has really picked it up since the start of the semester and continues to play well," Coach Shore said. "Hopefully he can start building on that. He can get better."

The Tigers' next match will be Saturday at home against the No. 20 Florida Gators. The match will begin at 1 p.m. CT and admission is free.
