Knoxville, Tenn. -- On its home court, No. 43 Tennessee was too strong for No. 52 Auburn, and the Volunteers posted a 4-1 victory Friday at Barksdale Stadium in Knoxville.

Max Hinnisdaels, playing at the third spot in singles, posted Auburn's lone win in singles, defeating Jack Schipanski 6-3, 6-4 for the victory. At number two singles, Marko Krickovic won his first set, 7-5, over Hunter Reese, but his match was not finished by the time the overall team match was clinched.

Tennessee took the doubles point, but Auburn's top tandem of Lukas Ollert and Krickovic managed a tight battle with the nation's third-ranked doubles team of Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese, ending up 4-5 in an unfinished contest.

The Tigers (14-11, 2-9 SEC) close the regular season Sunday in a noon CT match at Kentucky (11-14, 2-8 SEC). SEC tournament play at Texas A&M begins Wednesday, April 15.
