FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" Cole Lipscomb allowed just one run in 6-plus innings and Jackson Burgreen hit his first home run of the season, but Auburn baseball dropped the series finale to No. 18 Arkansas 3-1.

"We left some guys on base," Auburn head coach Butch Thompson said. "I thought offense would be limited today after the cold front came through. We battled and didn't cash in. We didn't string enough offense together today to give us a chance and it felt like for a period of time pitching might come through and get a victory. We just couldn't finish."

Lipscomb was lifted after allowing back-to-back hits in the seventh and finished with just three hits and one run allowed in 6-plus innings. He struck out a season-high eight with only one walk on 98 pitches.

Burgreen's first home run since 2013 gave Auburn (11-13, 1-5) a 1-0 lead in the third inning. It was his first homer since March 2, 2013 a stretch of 1,121 days.

The home run gave Auburn 19 round-trippers on the season surpassing the 2015 season total in just 24 games.

Arkansas (18-6, 3-3) tied the game in the seventh with a bloop single by Michael Bernal. The Razorbacks took the lead in the eighth on a bases-loaded single off Gabe Klobosits by Bernal that plated two before a diving Nulph tagged out a base runner at the plate in a complex rundown.

Bernal finished 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Izaac Yarbrough took the loss with two allowed in 1.1 innings pitched. He dropped to 2-1 on the season.

Anfernee Grier had a career-high four hits to lead the Tigers. He's reached base in all 24 games this season.

Zach Jackson pitched the final 2.1 innings and improved to 2-2.

Auburn is in action next on Tuesday against Alabama in the 2016 Capital City Classic at Montgomery's Riverwalk Stadium.
