AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬"Freshman Erik Armes, of the Auburn cross country team was selected as the SEC Men's Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
"It's great to see Erik get SEC Freshman of the Week after his performance on Saturday," Auburn head coach Mark Carroll said. "It's good to see him come back strong after redshirting all of last season. I look forward to seeing him progress as the season goes on."
The Coronado, Calif. native finished 20th at the Furman classic with a time of 26:22.58 in the men's 8k. The Auburn men scored 58 points to finished second.
Armes and the Tigers will return to action Saturday at the Commodore Classic in Nashville, Tenn.
