AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" The quest for a third-straight appearance in the Women's College World Series begins Friday for the No. 7 Auburn softball team. The Tigers (46-10) open postseason play with the 2017 NCAA Auburn Regional, May 19-21, at Jane B. Moore Field.

Auburn, the No. 1 seed in the regional, welcomes No. 2 seed Cal, No. 3 seed Notre Dame and No. 4 seed East Tennessee State to The Plains for a double-elimination tournament. The winner will advance to the NCAA Super Regionals and match up with the winner of the Normal Regional for a best-of-three series.

All games of the regional will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks. Auburn's games can also be heard on the radio locally on 95.9 FM and the official Auburn app. Mark Neely and Jenny Dalton-Hill will describe the action on television, while Brit Bowen and Brad Law have the call from the radio booth for the Tigers.

Auburn holds an 18-21 record in the regional round all-time, but is 6-0 as the No. 1 seed in the opening round.

Current members of the Tigers have amassed 27 extra-base hits in NCAA Tournament play, paced by Kasey Cooper's 12. Jenna Abbott, Kaylee Carlson and Makayla Martin have combined for an 8-2 record in the annual postseason tournament all-time.

Should Auburn advance, it would host the NCAA Super Regionals, May 26-28, at Jane B. Moore Field.
