NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Auburn track and field compiled three personal bests and four top-five finishes on day one of the Vanderbilt Invitational held at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Complex.
Senior Jonielle Smith continued her strong start to the season with another win in sprints, this time in the women's 200m where she clocked a 23.88 to lead the pack. The product of Kingston, Jamaica, won last weekend's Commodore Invitational 60m, held on the same track, with a personal best time of 7.30.
Coleman Churitch finished runner-up in the men's 5k with a time of 14:32.45. Raheem Chambers ran a personal best 21.59 to take third in the men's 200m and Jaron Brooks cleared 6-8.75/2.05m in the high jump to place fourth.
Caroline Lawrence topped a personal best mark of 5-5/1.65m in the women's high jump while Deja Hillman touched down 18-5/5.61m away from the starting strip for a personal best in the women's long jump.
The Vanderbilt Invitational concludes tomorrow. Events are set to get underway with a 10:30 a.m. CT start. Live stats can be found at Cfptiming.com.
