Auburn, Ala. - It was a light weekend for the Auburn track and field team as seven athletes, including six distance runners at the Raleigh Relays and decathlete Chris Stone at the Texas Relays. A junior from Oreland, Pa., Stone finished eighth at the Texas Relays with 7229 points, just short of his PR of 7300 points set at last year's event in Austin.

Stone got off to a strong Day 1 start, posting a score of 3725 points, his best first day total in the event. The first day saw Stone log collegiate outdoor bests in the long jump (7.00m/22-11.75), shot put (12.76m/41-10.5) and high jump (1.98m/6-06). The second day of competition saw Stone post solid marks, nearing PRs in four of the five events contested.

At the Raleigh Relays, in Raleigh, N.C., senior Wesley Curles led the Tigers distance group finishing 28th out of 149 finishers in the men's 5000m in 14:21.98, nearly 11 seconds faster than his previous collegiate best in the event. Sophomore Silas Kipngetich finished in 14:47.55 (75th), while senior Wesley Pectol finished in 15:06.17 (124th).

On the women's side, junior Brenda Kigen finished the 5000m race in 17:29.03 (77th), while freshman Joyce Kimeli, competing in her first outdoor meet for Auburn, crossed in 17:29.23 (78th).
