Men's Golf holds commanding lead at Tiger Invitational

OPELIKA, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" No. 6 Auburn men's golf holds a commanding 14 stroke lead at the Tiger Invitational presented by Jason Dufner after two rounds of play. The Tigers carded a 5-under 283 Monday at the Grand National Lakes Course.

Auburn is 12-under 281-283-564 with Maryland (292-286-578) and Mississippi State (289-289-578) 14 strokes back in a tie for second.

Five Tigers occupy spots in the top 10 led by freshman Wells Padgett, who is playing as an individual. The Wichita, Kan. product sits in second at 6-under 68-70-138 after the second round. He tallied seven birdies on Monday on Nos. 1, 2, 5 and 7 on the front nine and 11, 12 and 14 on the back.

Sophomore Jovan Rebula is one stroke back from Padgett at 5-under-68-71-139 in a tie for third. All-American Senior Ben Schlottman (69-71ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬"140) and junior Ryan Knop (70-70-140), also playing as an individual, are t-5 and freshman Brandon Mancheno is t-9 at 2-under 71-71-142.

Juniors Jacob Solomon (73-70-143) and Graysen Huff (76-67-143) sit in a tie for 14th.

Huff had the best round of any Tiger carding an eye-popping 5-under 67. He tallied seven birdies on the day with four coming on the front nine on Nos. 2, 4, 7, 9 and added three more on the back on Nos. 12, 14 and 15.

Sophomore Reagan Harrell, playing as an individual, is t-32 at 3-over (73-74-147). Freshmen Marcus Svensson (76-72-148) and Andrew Kozan (78-70-148) are t-40th.

Kennesaw State (284-298-582) is in fourth, followed by Georgia State (296-287-583) and Southern Mississippi (296-287-583).

Minnesota (296-288-584) is in seventh, followed by Missouri (297-288-585), Charlotte (292-294-586), UNCG (293-296-589), Troy (302-288-590), Chattanooga (302-289-591), Kansas State (299-293-592), James Madison (299-294-593), UNCW (301-395-596), South Alabama (303-299-602) and Samford (313-308-621).

Maryland's David Kocher holds the individual lead at 8-under 67-69-136.
