Auburn Earns Nine All-America Honors

AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" Seven student-athletes on the No. 2 Auburn equestrian team totaled nine National Collegiate Equestrian Association All-America honors, the NCEA selection committee announced Wednesday.

"I'm so proud of all our selections," head coach Greg Williams said. "What is really impressive is the large number coming out of the Southeastern Conference. These athletes are having to do that while competing against each other. That is extremely impressive. I'm so proud of our Auburn student-athletes and all of their accomplishments."

Junior Caitlin Boyle and freshman Taylor St. Jacques both earned recognition in Equitation Over Fences and Equitation on the Flat for Auburn.

Boyle, of Hampshire, Ill., earned first team recognition in Fences and second team honors in Flat. The Fences honor was the second first team selection of her career and third overall in the event, while the Flat recognition is the first for her on the Plains. Boyle leads the team with 10 Fences victories on the season. She was recently placed on the SEC All-Championship team for her efforts in Flat and is second on the team with 11 wins.

St. Jacques earned first team honors in Flat and second team in Fences for Auburn. The newcomer from Glen Allen, Va., has seven wins in each event and is second among the Hunt Seat corps with six MOPs ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" three Fences and three Flat.

Junior Hayley Iannotti joined the pair with a first team placement in Equitation on the Flat, marking her second-straight selection to the top team in the event. The Wellington, Fla., product is 12-3 overall on the season in the event with a pair of MOP honors.

Horsemanship riders Deanna Green and Kelsey Jung secured second team honors for their efforts in 2017-18. Green, a freshman from Pilot Point, Texas, has had an outstanding first year with the Tigers, leading the team with 11 wins so far. She has a team-best seven MOPs in the event and has earned the squad's highest score of the season with a 78.

Jung, a redshirt junior from Farmington, Utah, also has 11 wins so far in Horsemanship this year. She reached a career-best 77 at South Carolina in the fall, earning MOP honors. In addition, Jung picked up MOP honors in the regular-season finale, while also going undefeated at the SEC Championship last weekend.

Freshman Terri-June Granger was placed on the Reining First Team as the Dothan, Ala., product leads all Tigers with nine victories this season. She has five MOPs to her credit and has earned the team's highest score this season with a 74 at Georgia.

Senior Alexa Rivard was awarded All-America honorable mention in Reining, picking up the second national award of her career. The Suwanee, Ga., native is 8-4-2 on the season with three MOPs. In the spring, Rivard became Auburn's winningest Reining rider and has 39 career wins to her name.

The Tigers earned the No. 2 overall seed for the 2018 NCEA Championship. In addition, Horsemanship and Equitation on the Flat also earned No. 2 seeds, while Equitation Over Fences and Reining came in at No. 3. The national meet is slated for April 18-21 and will take place at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas.
